Dr Ryan Yorke’s passion is to help other people breakthrough to their untapped potential and live the life of their dreams. He has specific interests in the business of Chiropractic, NLP, and personal development. He has trained with several of the world's leading consultants and currently runs a successful practice in Adelaide, South Australia.
Ryan was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. As a child, he battled recurrent chest infections and missed many days of school. When it was clear that antibiotics were not working, a family friend referred him to a Chiropractor. What a difference it made! He continued to receive adjustments from then on. His calling to our great profession occurred when he was fifteen. Ryan was waiting for an adjustment one afternoon when he was jolted with a BFO or ‘blinding flash of the obvious’ that he had to become a Chiropractor.
Gridiron football was his other major passion. He studied Physical and Health Education at the University of Toronto where he was recruited to play football and in 1993 he helped his team win a National Championship. It was through football that he developed key leadership and team-building skills along with the qualities of determination and perseverance.
Ryan graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 1999. While studying, he had the opportunity to attend many practice success and philosophical seminars. His inspirations came mainly from John Demartini, James Sigafoose, Larry Markson, John and Judy Hinwood, Sid Williams, and Fred Barge. He still derives tremendous value from attending seminars on a regular basis.
While working during summer holidays after his second year at CMCC, Ryan met his lovely wife, Lee Ann, and in 1999, they were married. They returned to Peterborough after graduation and opened two practices.
In 2001, the travel bug got the best of them and they made the decision to go on a working holiday in Australia. Ryan was a locum and gained invaluable insights into different practice styles and operations around Australia.
Family life then began! They returned to Canada in 2002 to be surrounded by family for the birth of their handsome son, Graeme. Their beautiful daughter, Brianna, followed two years later with a home birth in Adelaide as they had returned to Australia for Ryan to set up practice as an Associate.
Apart from travelling with his family, Ryan also enjoys running, hiking, reading and personal development. He has completed the Great Ocean Road half-marathon and most recently the 100km Adelaide Trailblazer (23 hours and 32 min of sheer fun along the Great Southern Ocean!). Ryan enjoys pushing his limits and encourages others to do the same.
When Ryan and his family returned to Australia in 2003 and he had organised an associate position. For the next four years, he had the privilege of working along side a Chiropractor with exceptional business acumen. That influence led to a new found passion to help other health practitioners gain these necessary skills.
In 2007, Ryan moved to his current practice and soon after joined Powerful Practices as a client. Within 6 months his practice doubled and in June 2008 he won the Adelaide North and North East Regional Business Award. He recently made the easy decision to join The Centre for Powerful Practices as an Associate Coach and Mentor so that he could help others breakthrough to their untapped potential.
