A background of primary and secondary teaching, have given Berni the skills needed for training. Berni has a Diploma In Teaching with honours. During her teaching career she specialised in resource teaching dealing with children with learning difficulties. She was involved in school staff training and designing and developing specific programs for teachers to integrate into the classroom.

Berni is married to Michael and they decided to travel around Australia for 2 yrs on a working holiday, leaving Newcastle they went off on an adventure. Berni's multi-tasking skills really came into play during this time, from managing restaurants to scaling fish they certainly had fun and made friends wherever they went!

The next adventure was to Adelaide and work for 12 months. A position as Chiropractic Assistant found Berni in her true career. With initial support, education, love and encouragement from Dr Paul Lawrence, Berni was able to help fire up an unstoppable passion for Chiropractic. She was a major instigator in lifting the profile of Chiropractic in Adelaide and SA. Berni was a founding member of the Australian Chiropractic Assistants Association and served as President for 4 years. Yes twelve months was extended to eight glorious years in Adelaide . Berni was involved in clinic building, CA training and team coaching. (Chiropractic has never been the same since Berni came to town!)

Berni's most frequently asked question is “why are you always happy?' Her ever positive attitude inspires all those she knows and comes into contact with. Berni was the CA representative who attended the Chiroprators' Association Executive meetings in SA for 3 years.

The Century of Chiropractic saw Berni as a major organiser of the never to be forgotten 100 year dinner. The venue was at the picturesque Adelaide Oval in a marquee, after the circus tent style of B.J. Palmer. Berni's organisational skills and spirit of fun, really shone at this celebration for the Chiropractic family.

Berni was logistics coordinator for one of the most successful Dynamic Growth workshops on the Gold Coast. She is a popular speaker at both DG workshops and congress. A generous and avid supporter of ASRF Berni was also made an Associate Governor for ASRF to acknowledge her contributions.

Berni has a wealth of knowledge and skills from a very diverse cross section of chiropractic clinics in the role of CA, trainer, officer manager and coach. She has completed every course she could find to enrich her career. Berni holds certificates in Rensissen and Quest courses, Cannon communication courses where she has completed courses with Ngaire Cannon and holds a Certificate for Chiropractic Assistants from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. In 2006 Berni became a Certified Chiropractic Assistant through completing the Chiropractic Assistants Certification Program with the Centre For Powerful Practices

Berni believes team is the ultimate and participated and taught in interclinic workshops. This led to the development of HI Communications where Berni co-presented seminars and workshops entitled ‘Creating A Caring Clinic' and ‘Above and Beyond a Caring clinic.'

Through her extensive study of words and language Berni excels in teaching what words to use and those to avoid to create the best communication with a positive impact. Along with her skills of teaching and role playing Berni emphasises the relationship between physiology and emotions. Clearly relating how different postures change our whole being. Berni says “being sad is like being sick and who wants to be sick?”

Berni's belief in the power of positive thinking combined with her amazing goal setting and achieving techniques is definitely a major strength. Berni has great laughs over wanting to work in the clinic closest to home. So she went took a photo of the closest clinic for her goal board. Before the photo was developed ( obviously before digital) a chiropractor rang Berni and said she had purchased the exact same clinic and would Berni be Office Manager.

Berni succeeded as she puts it in ‘standing on top of the world' on Preikestolen (pulpit Rock) in Norway , another goal achieved. Berni believes in BE – DO – HAVE!

Berni's aim in coaching and training Chiropractic teams is to empower them to be inspired to take action in their lives and their clinics so that one CA, one DC, one client at a time in massive momentum we can change the health consciousness of the world.

Gratitude is one of the most important aspects in her life.  Berni is very grateful for the Chiropractors who have taught and supported her,  especially Dr Andrew Bartlett.

Berni lives chiropractic. Her belief is you only really know something when you're living it and can teach it to others. Her passion is to teach her excellent service and communication skills to as many people as possible all over the world with love, creating world peace.
